Youth Ministries

We are so thankful to work with the youth at our church. We are blessed to work with a wonderful group of people that make up our youth board. Brandi Davis, Jason and Evonnia Rhodes, Doug and Polly Hall, and Corey Baldwin. We meet every other month and create a calendar of events for each month.

The first Saturday of every month, we meet at the church at 10 am and do a community service event which typically includes trimming bushes or trees and cleaning gutters. On the second Tuesday night of every month, we meet together at the Family Center at 6 pm and we hangout. Our hangout could be a game of kickball, a cooking contest, scavenger hunt, flag football, ping pong tournament, etc. We also plan a social even on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of every month which might include a Christian concert, Braves game, Hawks game, amusement park, riding bikes, hiking trip, etc… Our events never cost the youth anything thanks to the church providing us finances.

I have been a high school math teacher for 28 years in public schools – 2 years in Philadelphia, 11 years in New Jersey and 14 years in Tennessee at Walker Valley High School. My wife has also been in education for 28 years working with preschool and elementary children. She has taught in Cleveland City and Hamilton County Schools for the last 14 years.

We worked as Youth Pastors and Ministers of Music for 15 years for the Levittown Church of God in Pennsylvania. We have been the Youth Pastor at the Kinser Church of God for three years. We both graduated from Lee University with minors in Bible. Our degrees are in Math Education and Elementary Education.

God blessed us with 3 amazing children. Our oldest daughter, Robyn, is a chemical engineer in Nashville and she is the children’s pastor at the Refuge Church in Smyrna, TN. Gennifer is working on her Master’s Degree to be an Occupational Therapist after graduating from Lee University in 2019. Robert is a junior at Lee University with a major in accounting.
